Searching for TruthI was born into and raised in a Christian family. My family and I were very active in our church group; my father was the youth group pastor, my mother was a Sunday school teacher, and I was the good little girl who sang in the church choir, played in the church band, and even acted in the church plays. As a child I was content, but as I grew older I had questions that the Christians I knew could not answer for me adequately: Why did God really create man? Why does He love man so? Why am I even a Christian? Is it only to keep God from sending me to hell or is there a deeper purpose? My parents had come in contact with the local church when I was in junior high but I did not appreciate what they had found. When I got into college I wandered through different churches seeking some kind of answers. What I wanted was the real truth in the Bible. I soon became utterly discouraged and fell into a deep depression. Finally, by the Lord's mercy and grace I too came to the local church. Here I found the truths I was searching for spoken in a genuine and uncompromising way. Here I am coming to know the depth of Christ's Person, the profound significance of His work on earth, and ultimately His heart's desire for us as Christians on this earth. I praise and thank the Lord for His faithfulness and His mercy in bringing me to this place where His truths are ministered. Now my Christian life has deep meaning and significance. Thank You Lord.
